Diabetes is a chronic condition characterised by increased glucose in the blood stream. This is due to the body’s inability to produce and/or adequately use insulin. The most common form of diabetes is Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM) and accounts for 90% of all cases of diabetes in Australia.
People suffering with T2DM are able to produce enough insulin in the body, but the body can't use the insulin effectively, and this results in unstable blood glucose levels. This has major implications on vital organs and can lead to heart disease, stroke, obesity, some forms of cancer and in the extreme cases even death.


Exercise is proven to reduce the incidence of Diabetes by at least 50%.
