Sports Physiotherapy uses advanced clinical assessment related to sporting performance to determine the cause of your injury. Many of our team members have post-graduate training, and use a broad range of treatment techniques specific to sporting activities. As a result, our physiotherapists are experienced in the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of muscle and joint injuries.
They are able to provide advice on safe sports participation, adaptation of rehabilitation and training for the purpose of preventing injury, restoring optimum function, and contributing to sports performance in people of all ages and abilities.
Our physiotherapists are able to treat effectively:
- muscle strains
- ligament strains
- joint injuries e.g. subluxation, dislocation
- post-surgery e.g. reconstructions, arthroscopes
- retraining of poor sporting technique
- overuse syndromes e.g. shin splints, throwing shoulder, tennis/golfers elbow
Physiotherapy treatment involves mobilisation/manipulation, soft tissue techniques, exercises specific your injury, postural and gait re-education, and taping or support prescription if required. Our physiotherapists provide advice on immediate and long term management of the presenting problem, and take into account biomechanics and hectic training schedules.
